Preformatted Tag

Cette balise sert à préserver les espaces tels qu'ils sont tapés, comme dans la poésie ou l'art ASCII..

Typographiquement, le texte préformaté n'est pas la même chose que le code. Parfois, une exécution fidèle du texte nécessite un texte préformaté qui n'a peut-être rien à voir avec du code. La plupart des navigateurs utilisent Courier et c'est un bon choix par défaut —avec un léger ajustement, Courier 10 Pitch sur Courier régulier pour les utilisateurs de Linux. Par exemple :

								The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
							Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
								The frumious Bandersnatch!"

Code

Le code peut être présenté "inline", comme <?php echo "C'est ma première page"; ?>, ou à l'interieur d'un bloc <pre>.
Parce que nous avons des besoins typographiques plus spécifiques pour le code, nous spécifierons Consolas et Monaco avant la police monospace définie par le navigateur.
